Transition Celebrations

 Be-Me ceremonies allow you to share your true self with the world in a celebration of you and your chosen name, so you can celebrate a new chapter in your life.

 

A Be-Me ceremony is a truly unique naming day celebration that allows you to celebrate who you really are, to formally declare your personally chosen name and to allow your loved ones to offer their support and acceptance of your true identity.

 

It allows you to be welcomed for who you are into your family and community as the real you, and also allows your family to share your journey and offer their support, as you move forward with your life.

 

Every ceremony can be personalised entirely for you and your family, whether that’s an intimate celebration in your home or garden, or a meaningful celebration at a special setting.

• To offer friends and family the opportunity to show their support and to stand beside you

• And for friends and family to offer their promise to act as advocates for you, during the years to come.

I will create a ceremony that is as unique as you are, and that celebrates all you can possibly become.

 

You might wish to include music, poems, readings and blessings or cultural elements that help your family and friends celebrate you, in your own way.

 

We might include symbolic gestures such as lighting candles, anointing with water or oil, or sharing ribbons in support and solidarity.

We could include something grand, like planting a tree or something much more subtle, such as planting a tiny seed that will blossom if it is nurtured and supported to grow.

 

You might feel that you are making this transition into your new life alone, and perhaps friends and family don’t share, support or understand.

I’m here to help you stand proudly to say ‘This is Me’ and to share your moment of becoming that person formally.

 

It might be a moment where we can show others how they can support you and continue to be beside you in your journey. I’m also here to help family members find ways to tell you and show you how much they wish to support you, even if they do not yet understand your transition.

 

Be-Me ceremonies are not about the legal process of changing your name by deed-poll, but of declaring your true self and celebrating a milestone on your journey of becoming.

 

You may not have friends and family around you, or may be worried that they might not attend and provide you with the support you need. There is a community of amazing advocates who will stand with you if you are alone. I will help you to find those in your community who can offer their support.

If you are still feeling alone, we will invite you to share a ceremony with those who can see the real you.

 

Every Be-Me ceremony will include a signed and dated certificate announcing your new name and can include the names and signatures of your chosen advocates.
